Static Front Page & WordPress on /News, How do I update the theme?

  • I have wordpress installed under the /news directory and my main page when you access https://www.mysite.com is a static page made to match my wordpress theme. How can I install/move wordpress at the root but keep everything the same that is under /news?

    Id like to update my website & theme and have it cohesive at the same time paying close attention to not move any URL’s or drastically change content as to not affect SEO.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!
