• I am converting a customers site to WP, and I have apparently done something wrong in setting up a static front page vs. post pages. The current non-WP site is .athenacare.com. Inside that directory I am developing the WP version, athenacare.com/blog, which will eventually replace the non-Wp site.
The problem I am having is with retrieving posts. I can click on the categories and see the posts on the category page, but when I click on the title of the post, I get a page not found message, and in the address bar it shows https://www.athenacare.com/blog/http:/www.athenacare.com/blog/maintain-garbage-disposal. Under Reading in Admin the posts page is set to blog, which also shows up in top navigation. The theme is twentyeleven. Can anyone tell me what I screwed up and how to fix it?

  • Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting via Settings -> Permalinks. If this works, then review Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.

You hit the nail on the head, esmi, and thank you. When I went back to the default permalink setting my post started showing on single.php. I will delve, again, into permalinks as you suggest. Thanks for being there.

PS: I have bookmarked your forum replies and threads, and I intend to go through them.

Whoa! That’s an awful lot of topics to go through and you might find that many of them are rather repetitive. ??

I’ll see how it goes. I figure you saved me several hours already, and a little repetition aids the learning process. Cheers.
