Static front page permalink to full blog
-
I’ve done quite a few modifications to my WP install. This includes have quite a few “page templates” to allow me to display more then one “page” inside a single “page.” This allows me more control and proper “page title” displaying. I also have a static front page.
Problem is, no way to bring back the complete blog in a “sub-directory” such as /blog/. Right now if you goto /about/ you’ll get the “about us” page, same goes for the gallery, etc. I’ve tried the same code that was in the “index.php” page template file and put it into “blog.php” and gave it the “page template” name as “Blog”. I then have created a dummy page in wordpress to house this template. This works perfectly for every other page I have done so far. EI: Display 3 separately created pages within the /about/ page. Except with the blog template. When you go to /blog/, it comes up showing nothing, except a old header.
No post show up. Why is this? In theory it should work just fine, since it’s worked for the about page, gallery, contact, etc.
Is there a way to do this? A way without having to add a category named ei: “general” to all of my posts and then calling to that category in the menu link? I just want /blog/ to go to the whole blog while / continues to go to my main “static” front page.
Thank you.
