“Static Front Page” option not available in Customize sidebar

  • Hi Andrii, how’s it going?

    I just downloaded the Bento theme yesterday and installed it. I don’t see the “Static Front Page” option in the Customize bar. Also, I don’t know if this is related, but there isn’t a Front Page template in my Dashboard – Pages area. There was an About page (stellarmetal.ca/about) and a first blog post, but not static front page template for me to customize. (I since deleted the About and Blog because I am making a one-page layout.)

    Hey Cindy,

    if you can’t see the “Static Front Page” option in the “Appearance – Customize” admin section, please try updating your WordPress core to the latest version (in the “Dashboard – Updates” admin section) and Bento to the latest version (in the “Appearance – Themes”). If it still doesn’t show, I will need to ask you to provide the URL of your website, as well as the login and password from the WordPress backend by sending the details to suppor[at]satoristudio.net (will not be shared with any third parties) – seeing the actual code and settings will enable me to provide a more precise solution. Thanks!

    Regarding the second question – there are only two page templates in Bento: the default one and the Grid page; any pages that you create in the “Pages – Add New” admin menu are not part of the theme, since content is stored separately from representation in WordPress. You can check the “Trash” folder in the “Pages – All Pages” admin menu just to make sure you haven’t deleted it accidentally.
