Hello, I am using Polylang with Laytheme. I have a website in Italian (main language) and trying to translate it to English too. Everything works perfectly, but for the frontpage.

I have searched both in this and in the Laytheme forum, but unfortunately I haven’t been able to solve the problem yet.

I understand that the best procedure to fix the problem is
” 1 -C reate a ‘polylang’ folder in wp-content (or use existing ‘polylang’ folder)
2 -Upload the wpml-config.xml file into the ‘polylang’ folder
3 – In your WordPress admin, go to to Languages > String translations and search for ‘frontpage_select_page’
4 – Replace the existing number in the ID field of the foreign language with the right ID “number
    5 – Save the changes`

Regarding point 4: What is the correct ID number for english_uk?
I have tried a few by “copying” other’s solutions but everytime I apply that I obtain a white front page when I switch language.

Thank you very much for your help

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hello, after trying for days, it was enough to write asking for help to also find the solution: What other users didn’t explain well is that the ID code needed re: point 4 is not based on language in general, but it is related to your own page. So, if anybody else is struggling, you can find the ID of the static page you want translated by checking in the url while editing that very same page in wordpress.

    Thank you anyway!

    Guido
