Static Front Page and Page List duplication
-
My problem is that, when I assign a page to be my static home page (and another blank one to be my blog page) it works like a charm except that, in the header section where all pages are listed, both the static page and a wp-generated “home” link are shown.
I am sorry if this has been answered elsewhere. I did some searching, but only found one real workaround so far which required the creation of a template copy/replacement of the current index page.
Could there not be a way to tell WP that, if a page is being used as the static home, that it should not be listed in page lists by default? Some way to make this happen without having to edit themes? It seems that one more column somewhere marking a particular page as the index would make it an easy db query…
Or has this been done? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
