  • Unless I am misunderstanding what you want to do, it is no longer necessary to use a plugin to get a static front page.

Go to Admin / Settings / reading and set it there.

    Hi,

I’m new to WP, and I’m trying to make a static page into my home page.

I’ve read the posts re. Settings / reading / set static page as home page, and have followed the directions. However, this seems to lead to two problems: first, this procedure doesn’t seem to ‘replace’ the ‘home’ tab, but instead simply makes the static page the destination of the blog URL. It also leaves one with the confusing (for the visitor) situation of having BOTH a ‘home’ tab (that will now not go anywhere) and the tab for the now pseudo-home (static) page.

Are there any ways around these problems?

Thanks, in advance, for any help you’d care to share.

    All the best,
    Michael
