Static Front Page

    Cant seem to set up a Static Front Page and a blog page at the same time as soon as I do this I get a blank home page

    To get the home page looking like the demo, you have to go into your Settings > Reading settings and set the home page to “Your Latest Posts.” It won’t show your latest posts (except in the section for that); it will display the demo version of the home page. If you set it to a static page, then it will only show the elements you put in that page via the post editor.
