State select missing default preselected state

    Hi,

    great plugin, it just needs a few details and it will be perfect.

    Here is a missing logic for fields with select dropdown.

    Example when we used State select:
    missing default preselected state.

    It needs “Please select” before states because, if you want to make it a Required field, it will always be preselected with first State (for example Alabama), so users would not even have to take a look at this field if they forgot to populate (no error would come up).

    It may seems like not a big deal, but it actually IS very important.
    Also, some import for select fields would be great, since now (for example for USA) you need to MANUALLY add over 50 states, which is crazy.

    I see how this might be an issue if cases if a field is required. I’ve forwarded your request to our developers

    As a workaround, please consider using the Address field, which has the States field in it.

    Hi,

    I have found a solution. No need to contact your developers, but they could have instructed you more ??

    You can add first option named “Select” but once it is saved, go back and delete Value field. If value field is empty it will be treated as empty field and thus NOT PASS as required.

    I found this out while setting the field as REQUIRED, below it has this info:
    “Options without a value will be treated as empty options”

    So that’s the logic if anyone is struggling with the same thing.
