Statcounter not enabled

I set up statcounter and put in the necessary information (project ID, partition and security code) but after I click “update” it still says that Statcounter is disabled at the top of the page in big letters and all my info is gone (it’s back to 0). I went to the plug-in page and clicked “activate plugin” but it still says it is disabled under “Options”

Can anyone help me in resolving this problem so I can use statcouter? What should “stat counter logging” and “wordpress admin logging” be set to (enabled disabled)?
