• I love Statcounter, and it’s with a heavy heart that I come here to tell you that it’s making my theme go crazy.
I use this theme on my www.remarpro.com website: https://demo.select-themes.com/hazel5/, and whenever Statcounter is active, none of the pages load properly. They go instantly blank. I’ve tested this out with two different developers and a guy from Bluehost and we all came to the conclusion that something on your plugin’s not compatible with this theme.

I’d very much appreciate if you could take a look at this issue, cause I don’t wanna have to stop using your lovely plugin (that has been a friend of mine in previous websites for years). Also, can I install it on my page using a method that doesn’t require a plugin while you solve this?

    Thanks a lot!

  • Sorry to hear you are having difficulties.

Could you please try the following steps below to get StatCounter setup on your blog.

*Please de-activate plug-in first, if installed.*

    1. Login to WordPress
    2. Click Appearance in the left hand menu
    3. Select “Editor”
    4. In the list on the right hand side select “Footer (footer.php)”
    5. In the text box to the left paste your StatCounter code just before
    </body></html>
    6. Click the “Update File” button

The StatCounter code should now be active in your current theme. Please note that if you switch themes you’ll have to re-add the code to this file.

Well, I tried it this way, but the only code that didn’t make my page go nuts was the basic one, which means the problem might have something to do with JS. Sadly, the basic code messed up with the layout, making the footer look a bit weird. Is there a way to get the basic code (which is working) to be completely invisible and not-damaging to the visual aspect of the website?

Also, I got this message while I was trying to install the basic code:

“This version is only recommended for sites which don’t allow you to embed JavaScript code. JavaScript is used to record statistics such as screen resolution and where your visitors came from.”

But then when I tested it out and looked at the stats, they did have the screen resolution and everything else, so I don’t really understand what’s happening.

    Thanks!
    Xx
