    The Duplicator starts creating an archive but then gets stuck indefinitely at ‘Creating Archive 0%’ without displaying any errors. The spinning wheel continues but nothing happens. There is also no output in the log, regardless of whether using mysqldump or PHP code, ZipArchive or DupArchive. There is sufficient memory available, and it has access to all the data.

    Can you please provide us with a screenshot that shows the sisue?

    Also, please can you check if this is a conflict with another plugin/theme?

    Deactivate all the plugins except for Duplicator, activate a default WordPress theme like 2023, and try to build a backup. Let me know if it works.

    Exactly the same happens to my WP-site (wp 6.5)

    Why has my comment been deleted?? And the others?
    Seems tobe be a problem with WordPress’ newest Version, stated like this when not having succeeded in duplicating.

    We have the same problem with Version 1.5.8.1 : The Duplicator starts creating an archive but then gets stuck indefinitely at ‘Creating Archive 0%’ without displaying any errors.

    Duplicator Version 1.5.8 worked fine.

    We use PHP version 8.0.16. With PHP 7.4.33 Duplicator Version 1.5.8.1 works fine.

    I hope this helps with troubleshooting.

    Hi @mohammedeisa, even when I deactivate all plugins except Duplicator and use a current standard WordPress theme, the same problem persists, it stays at 0%.

    WP 6.5
    Duplicator 1.5.8.1
    PHP 8.2.16

    Same here with WP 6.4.3 and WP 6.5. Also PHP 8.1 latest and 8.2 latest. They all have Duplicator free 1.5.8.1 and DID work – but today not anymore.
    I’ve tested lots of our websites and it’s the same everywhere and in all possible configurations.

    I also get a WordPress error message:

    ^^It’s the same error on ALL sites.
    For me it reads as if Duplicator shoots itself down by trying to load a buggy ADVERTISING script…

    @mohammedeisa: we trust in your product for many years now but since your big overhaul you just got too much advertising in your plugin. No matter what the problem is: how quickly can you get it repaired? We are currently unable to back up a single website with duplicator.

    —> Quick solution:

    the problem is caused by file: wp-content/plugins/duplicator/template/parts/Education/callout-cta.php

    Removing its content between lines 20-81 solves the problem, and Duplicator works again…

    This is what I wrote: The (not so) new massive advertising is already destroying the free plugin version. Does ‘Education’ mean ‘buying education’ then? Callout call to action is obviously.

    Do you alter that PHP even between plugin updates?

    And I fully agree to your opinion about massive advertising @yellowfellow333: I understand, the developer wants to “monetize”, but this time is too much. …

    @heneart this question was for the Duplicator team as we normally always backup our installs before and after updates and had no problems with 1.5.8.1 till now…

    Duplicator Version 1.5.8 worked fine

    Cleaned, optimized, threw out a lot (ftp-uploads), deactivated and then tried again – file-upload far to big!

    @mohammedeisa maybe you should consider implementing a build in plugin rollback system as Duplicator is a critical one. E.g. Elementor has that which could be a life saver if an update would be buggy…

    But as a quick’n’dirty workaround: why don’t you release a 1.5.8.0 rollback as 1.5.8.2 update as long as you’re still searching for the problem? There are endless sites out there that can’t be backed up right now…
