I’m preparing to start a blog using WordPress and wanted to know if there is a way to work on it over a period of time, privately, then publish it in the public domain when ready. Thank you.

  • Check with your host. There may be a method of password protecting the site so it’s not visable.

theapparatus, not sure what you mean, sorry. I have no separate host per se, as I was going to use WordPress. Does this make sense? Thought there might be some way to keep things private during the creation process (e.g. selection of themes/template, set-up procedure, etc.), then switch to a public blog later, but wasn’t sure.

    To all,

Found answer elsewhere (Lorelle on WordPress…great source of info.) and after deciding to start blog. Page settings should be marked “private” or “draft” until ready.
