• I was on blogger for the last 6 months and I thought that was pretty self explanitory, but since I bought my own domain, I went with wordpress and hooked up with a hosting company who led me to wordpress cause IT WAS EASY.

The last week I loved it, but now you almost need a engineering degree to figure it out. I am not a huge HTML, or PBP Know it all, in fact I know little, but I was told that it was simply.

Well today I try to add a image, and its all small and blurry. I then go into a html to try to widen it and make it bigger by adjusting the height size from 85 to 105 to 185, and the width size from 96 to 116 to 196, either way it just is small and blurry. I tried to right click on image and expand it, but can obly go so far down.

I even tried to re-save it as a jpeg, bitmap and neither work.

Its getting real frustrating, WordPress is suppose to be top of the art for blogging, but with thissimple and important feature Blogger has them.

Ok, It shows finally, but I activated it and this is what it says…

Warning: ps_imagemanager_config(/home/nathanev/public_html/wp-content/plugins/configure/index.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/nathanev/public_html/wp-content/plugins/imagemanager-plugin.php on line 121

Warning: ps_imagemanager_config(): Failed opening ‘/home/nathanev/public_html/wp-content/plugins/configure/index.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/nathanev/public_html/wp-content/plugins/imagemanager-plugin.php on line 121

    Moshu,

For a moderator on this site you really are kind of a stroke.

Why in the world would anyone want to post a message on this board if you are just going to cut them down. Further, it does little to help promote WordPress when the only support area is less than friendly.

You see people ask for support because a:) something doesn’t work

    b:) They are new.

Perhaps you shouldn’t be moderating if you are so uptight.

Nate. Go back to the original url and look over the assorted files and directories that are part of that plugin. Did you upload ALL of them, as the instructions said?

I’m purely guessing, but seems like maybe not.

@soundtrip – please assist the OP or do not post. Cluttering threads hinders, it does not help.

@nate – I agree with handysolo that it looks like a file is missing.

Podz – I spend as much time possible helping people in and outside of this forum. It just puts me off to see people get dissed in such a manner. I have had numerous e-mails from people asking for help outside of the forum because they run into this kind of thing.

For the record, I am a web host and have many users on WordPress. I would like them to be able to get answers here but responses like calling someone blonde or berating them for not understanding the issue is of little help. It especially is a bit disconcerting to see that from a moderator.

    Nate,

Handysolo and podz are correct. Line 121 of the config file says
    ‘include_once(dirname(__FILE__) . “/configure/index.php”);’

You have to make sure all of the image-manager files have been put into the plugins directory.

Ok, I only loaded imagemanagerplugin.php to my server from the file I downloaded.

How do I extract them to my server?

    Thanks

Nate… send me an email if you’d like and I’ll try to help… just go to the contact page on my site to email me.

    Ok, UPDATE:

I downloaded the files to my cpanel and it is now on there and working, but its not on when I write a post.

SoundTrip :: You haven’t spent a lot of time on these forums if that’s you’re impression of moshu. Perhaps you should observe a little more, first. Personally, I feel like the moderators here should be given sainthood. They help newbies all the time… so do many of the rest of us. The problem arises when someone’s lack of knowledge is exceeded by their immaturity… this thread is a case in point. It’s one thing to get on here and ask for help. It’s another thing to begin by whining about how this software sucks and screw everybody for not spoon-feeding me. Most people would prefer not to help someone who finds it necessary to take that approach to this forum.

i personally would recommend you to get an account on flickr. upload images there and find the right sized image link to get the images on your blog. that is what i do with my personal blog.

The impression people get is not from all the previous replies but in the last one seen. There are better ways to slap a newbie than berating them on a public forum.

This is not a knock agaisnt the moderators. I appreciate what they do as well as all the people who help. My problem is that I can’t refer my users to support if they fear asking a question. I can’t be alone in that regard as there are many businesses that use wordpress.

Worse, as a representative of the product, moderators should try and put the best face on support. Why would anyone want any support person who represents their products to publicly berate end users, even obnoxious ones? It just makes wordpress look bad in the end.

Perhaps that is the best solution.

I have had my say and concede that not everyone shares my opinion.

as a representative of the product, moderators should…

    I don’t represent anyone – except myself.
I am not affiliated in any way with WP.
I do this on my own time, as an unpaid volunteer.
I am intolerant to ignorance and even more toward those who don’t read the offered support links before posting back.
I am intolerant toward those who want instant gratification without learning and doing some work.
I am old enough not to care about what others think of me.
