Starting from scratch
-
Hi all,
I run the website https://www.franksandbeansonline.com. A while ago, I downloaded a video plugin upgrade that caused an error on my page – instead of the page loading, all I got was a big long error message regarding the plugin. I logged in through my ftp site (as opposed to editing right from the page) and manually deleted the file in question. This brought the site back to working order, but my computer now warns me that it may harm my computer to view it. I’m looking for some help – any help! – in this regard.
I’m not sure if there’s a simpler solution, but I am considering deleting all of the files present and starting over again to do away with the potential danger to others’ computers. I don’t have a very extensive knowledge of wordpress or website development in general, so I might just be feeling around in the dark with this. Here’s what I’m getting at – if I go in through my ftp site again and just delete everything wholesale, will I mess things up to where I’m unable to log in to the website again? I want to be able to use the onsite editor and I don’t want to screw things up if I just delete everything from my ftp. I don’t want to delete crucial, irreplaceable files (I already have everything I need saved).
Many thanks in advance for your help – I apologize for the rambling message.
