Starting Custom Playlist From Specific Video

  • I’m wanting a way to be able to post one video that is within a custom playlist but have it so that the video I specify is what shows before hitting “play” and is what plays initially, even if it’s in the middle of the playlist.

    But i still want the remaining videos to play after that one. The only way I can currently figure out how to do this is to create a different playlist for every blog post I do with that playlist having the newest video on top with all the older videos below so that it will play through.

    That is a LOT of work and a lot of lists. Is there a better way? I can’t find the list parameters anywhere but even if I could, those seem to only allow random or just playing one video.

    Each of my blog posts is a new video and I want it to be so that when they are done with that video, the older ones will play. Currenlty I’ve been embedding via the YouTube playlists but that does not allow for metadata. my site is bitesizevegan.com (right now only have the Vixy for the post on “what if the world went vegan tomorrow” and just a test playlist at that.

  • This isn’t supported at the moment – you can only specify a YouTube playlist name or create one in your Vixy admin screen. However, in either case you’ll have the same problem.

    We’ll look at being able to specify the start video in a later release.

    okay thank you for the reply. as you know, I’m sure, youtube makes it so you can embed the playlist at a particular video. that would be incredibly helpful. thank you!
