Start over with clean (empty) pool

  • Hello,

    I did some testing to check everything is working well… So I changed some match dates, created some users, added some predictions and calculated the results. Is it possible to errase all this and start over again with all the old dates and data? I tried it couple days ago and the whole plugin was broken…

    Is there a way to realise this in a couple steps?

    Somebody asked it before but I cant seem to get it…

    What to do when is comes to penalty’s?

    You answered that you always use the score after the extra time… So that means it always is a draw… How? when it is a quarter final somebody has to win… so you have to fill in the actual score… Otherwise the results are not right anymore…

    How can I solve this in a good way?

    If you untick the “keep data on uninstall” option and deactivate the plugin, all data is erased from the database. Then you can activate the plugin again to start clean.

    If you want to keep your matches data, export the data first to a csv (full format). If you use the world cup 2014 schedule, this is not needed, as you can use the schedule that is supplied in the install.

    About the penalties: I only work with actual match results. So in my case players can indeed predict a draw for a final (I use the end score after 90 minutes, or 120 minutes in case of extra time).
    If you only want to predict winners, then you can use several options: let users also predict the result after penalties (but then it’s hard to get the full score), or don’t use the matches after the group phase and just use bonus questions to predict winners of matches or pick teams that proceed to the next round. And maybe you can also make use of the linked question feature. Be creative ??
