Stars show but unable to rate

  • Hello! Thanks for a lightweight star rating system. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to get it to function properly. The stars appear on a post but nothing happens. No hover effect, no rating but I am able to rate from the post edit section in the Admin panel. On page refresh or using another browser as anonymous, the rating doesn’t appear in the results below the stars. I was using the old GD Star plugin and have deleted it as well as all tables in the database. Purged cache, optimized tables etc. I deactivated YASR, removed and re-installed newest version. Nothing. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you

    As what I see, you’re using the [yasr_overall_rating] shortcode, if you want enable your users to vote, you must use [yasr_visitor_votes] shortcode. If you use auto insert you have to enable “visitor votes”

    I changed my settings to visitors as I do use auto insert. As a visitor from another browser, I’m able to click but it says ‘You can’t vote’, when I’m logged in, it hovers the stars but nothing happens when I click to vote. I’m not sure if that’s because I’ve already voted/tried voting. Are votes counted by IP address or browser session?

    I have a multiset displayed in a page. I have the settings set so only users who are logged in can vote however neither guest nor member can vote.

    @kaheli63 Yes I can’t vote too. I suggest to try to disable all your others plugin 1 by 1 because there must be a conflict somewhere

    @jld142 Only the author of the post/page can insert vote in the multiset. Read the doc “What is a Multi Set?” in the settings page

    I had actually disabled all plug-ins, cleared cache and tried before posting here. But that was before changing the settings so I will try again. Thanks!
