I recently installed and have been testing the 2.3.4 WP Customer Reviews plugin (business mode, not product); having a couple of issues I’m hoping to get some info on? I have the plugin only enabled for one page on our site: https://thecleartech.com/about/testimonials/

First is the location of the review button/form, and display of stars. Stars are not displaying, whether I set the “Location of Review Form” above or below posts (as suggested in this thread).

Too, whether I select above or below, the “Click here to submit your review” button and associated form only ever come up below the reviews.

Second is the shortcode – I’d like recent reviews to appear in a widget on our home page, so I’d created this “recent reviews” page using [WPCR_SHOW=ALL,2] in the page.

The widget is then created using the Genesis – Featured page widget, with only “Show Page Content” enabled. If I leave “Content Character Limit” blank, the review shows up ok, although the length causes the homepage look to get out of whack (really long reviews cause the “home top right” section to throw rest of content out of alignment). If I set the char limit of the widget (e.g., to 300, 500, etc), however, the page content doesn’t show up, only the WP shortcode “[WPCR_SHOW=ALL,2]” is displayed.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

2.3.6 should fix the first couple of issues where the plugin contents were not being placed inside of the styled container.

The last issue with using the Genesis framework — sounds like an issue that you may need to take up with them. I don’t have any blog running that framework so I am not able to do any debugging, and I’m not really sure how they parse that content. It sounds like when using a char limit, they are using their own functions, instead of allowing WP to handle that.

Thanks, Bompus – re: the widget/shortcode, is there another type of widget container I can place the “recent reviews” page or shortcode directly into? e.g., I tried placing the [WPCR_SHOW=ALL,2] shortcode into a text widget, but it just showed the code, didn’t render the reviews. Then I saw in your instrutions that one needs to create an actual page, that the shortcode will only render in a page?

Have you any suggestions for other wordpress widgets which I could use to display said page, where the “max char limit” may work?

I’ll look at more options for a future version.. I’ll have to check into widgets and how they work and are made to see if there is a simple way to do it. I’ll try to reply here with what I find.
