  • Hi,

Can you please let me know what version of WordPress and the Book Review plugin you are using?

    Thx.

    Hey Donna,

The plugin is v2.1.8 and WP is v4.1.1.

    Thank you for the help!

    Adam

    Hi Adam,

You’re the first person to have reported this problem, and 2.1.8 has been out for a few weeks now. It’s also working just fine on my own blog which is running the same version of the plugin and WordPress that you are. That leads me to believe that there’s something specific to your particular site that may be causing this.

Do you know if your theme or any of your plugins are rewriting or otherwise manipulating URLs? You may want to start by deactivating some of your other plugins to see if that helps at all.

    Thx.

    Hi Adam,

I’ve just seen this problem on another person’s blog, so perhaps it is more prevalent than I first thought. It is a bit of a mystery as it works OK on some blogs but apparently not so well on others. If you perhaps have some custom structure or some other clue that may make it easier to troubleshoot, please feel free to pass that info along as it could help me to solve it faster.

    Thx!

Interesting. I just updated the plugin to the latest version and I’m still having the issue. Here’s a screenshot of all the active plugins that I’m running.

I don’t have any custom modifications.

Thanks! Are you comfortable with FTP’ing a plugin to your web server? If I’m not able to reproduce this issue, it’s going to be difficult to fix, so I was hoping you might be able to test any changes I make to see if it resolves the problem?

    Cheers.

Sorry, one more question. Would you happen to know which version of PHP you are on? A quick way to check is to install the Health Check plugin. It’s old, but I installed it, was able to get my PHP version (5.4.36) and then deleted the plugin.

    Hey Donna,

I’m running PHP version 5.2.17 and MySQL version 5.5.41. And yes, I’m comfortable FTP’ing a plugin into my web server. i’d be happy to test ??

    Hi Adam,

I was able to reproduce this on one of my sites that was running a version of PHP that was older than 5.3.0. I’ve just released version 2.1.10 of the plugin. Once you update to that the problem should be fixed.

Cheers, and thanks for reporting this.
