standardize the size of the highlighted images

    Checked the shared URL but not getting any image size difference.

    And there is nothing to do with the free/paid version, it depends on your image size used and settings.

    Try to use the same size of images and customize it via Appearance > Customize > Blog > Blog Entries.

    I later changed it to miniature, but it lost quality

    Do you want to continue with it or still want to change the image sizes?

    Sorry but not getting you that what exactly you want to achieve now.
    Can you please explain a bit more?

    in this template the images are right and do not lose quality regardless of their size

    Go to Appearance > Customize > Blog > Blog ENtries, and select the blog style as the thumbnail.
