    Hello,

We switched to this extension for PayPal Standard payments a little while ago and we’re now realizing that when new customers make a purchase, an account is not created in WordPress/WooCommerce after a successful transaction. That is with “Enable guest checkout” deactivated

Is this normal with this extension as we didn’t have this issue with the PayPal plugin we were using before (we had other issues with it but not this). Is there a setting we must change to have an account created for new users ordering via PayPal with your extension.

If it helps, we have credit cards disabled in “Disable Alternative Payment Methods” as we’re using Stripe for credit card payments.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    Hello @pixelyzed ,

Thank you for reaching out to us, we’re here to help.

Is there a setting we must change to have an account created for new users ordering via PayPal with your extension.

It is likely that you did not have?Require final confirmation on checkout?checked, so buyers skipped the Checkout page. In such cases, the plugin may not always create a user account when the buyer makes an express payment.

Best course of action would be to check?Require final confirmation on checkout?setting.

The feature you’re referring to is controlled by the “Require final confirmation on checkout” setting within the “Standard Payments” tab of the plugin.

Hi there! Thanks for the reply!

That setting has been checked all along so that’s not it. I made two purchase tests myself using an email that was not linked to an account in the site and I definitely went through the regular checkout page (we do not have any of the PayPal buttons that would appear elsewhere activated). I completed the order and no user account created in WordPress/WooCommerce.

The checkout page is using the new checkout experience with blocks and not the old shortcode. Could that have to do with it although it’s not affecting Stripe and was not affecting the old PayPal plugin we were using before.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks!

    Hi @pixelyzed,

If you have a staging site available, we would like to take a look at the setup.

It will also be helpful if you could share your current System Status Report. You can get it by navigating to the?WooCommerce / Status?section of your site. Once there, click on the?Get system report?button and then copy it by clicking on the?Copy for support?button.

Please provide those log entries on our PrivateBin. After uploading, paste here the link, so we can review them in detail.

If you don’t feel comfortable sharing those details on a public forum, please open a ticket with our service desk. You can find the instruction for this here:?https://paypal.inpsyde.com/docs/request-support/
(please add the URL of this thread in the ticket as well)

    Hi,

I have the same issue as @pixelyzed. It’s been happening since July more or less. Where I can find the option “Require final confirmation on chekout”? Also, I only have enabled instant payments, so “pay later” and “credits cards” are disabled.

    Thanks,

    Maria

    Hi @osheta,

The issue you are encountering is not the same as the issue this thread. You seem to have an issue with the final user confirmation settings instead.

If you want us to take a closer look at this, we would need to look into the logs of our plugin and possibly the system report. You can copy the log files from here:
    – WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support
    – WooCommerce > Status > Logs > select “woocommerce-paypal-payments…” in the dropdown and click on view.
Since this issue is not related to the issue this ticket was opened for I suggest you open a new thread or open a ticket directly with us on our?service desk.
