• I have created two newsletters on my site, one being an automatic newsletter sent three days after subscription, and the other an ad hoc standard newsletter promoting a new product.

I have had no issues with my auto newsletter as far as I am aware.

Yesterday when I set my standard newsletter to send at a scheduled time, everything appeared to run smoothly, with mailpoet reporting that it had been sent to my 200 or so customers.
None of the emails however were shown as opened.

I had a test account linked to that particular subscription list, and when I checked the inbox (inc junk) it had not been received. Furthermore, when I send a preview of that particular newsletter nothing comes through.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

Both site and email is hosted by GoDaddy and I send through PHP. Like I say, the automatic newsletter seems to work without issue.

    Many thanks

  • Same here leewrathe, and I just spent two hours with Hostgator support with no luck. Automatics go out fine, but same thing happened on my standard newsletter that was supposed to go out this morning. Exact same thing. Won’t thread highjack, just want you to know you are not alone.

    Hi,
Same problem for me yesterday (only 50 sends out of a mailing list of 295 addresses)…
    Frustrating ??
    Eric.

Upon verification, my emails were correctly sent out; but during their processing, it appears that they transit through servers that are not recognized by Google, Yahoo, et. al. as being inconsistent with what lies in the “From:” field of the message.
I’d love to read feedback from the support of MailPoet ??

I have the same problem. Are there any news?

The emails seem not to arrive subscribers with a Yahoo/Gmail/Hotmail adresses… maybe more. Communities recommend to use a third party for sending (instead of “your own website” in the settings of MailPoet) – until yesterday I was sending via “my own website”.

So I registered at sendgrid (MailPoet is recommending this), I chanced to “third party” in the settings but even the test-email doesn’t arrive (I use a Yahoo-Account combined with WordPress…). So I feel a bit looked out at the moment ??

    I use WP 4.4.1
    MailPoet 2.7.1
    Firefox 45.0.2

I used the standard-newsletter (no automatics)

I’d love to read feedback from the support of MailPoet, too ??

Might it be constructive to ask my hoster for that problem, too?

    Hello Ponyreitenrockt

I’ve asked my hoster; they advised that the issue does not originate with them.
To be more precise about the problem, here is the kind of error message that is fed back explanation of the mails having bounced:

I was also advised to use SendGrid, but didn’t do it … yet.

    Eric.

    Hey Esarrat,

thanks for the answer. It is a bit “techy” for me – what do you recommend? Is it just a delay and Yahoo/Gmail… will accept those emails later – as usual?

Will it be necessary to wait for a new MailPoet release, what could fix it? I never had this trouble before and I really like to use MailPoet… Maybe the provider could assist in this case… please, MailPoet… .-)

I didn’t find a good opportunity to contact Yahoo, they just offer support-topics like FAQs…

    Hello,
I wish I were knowledgable enough to issue recommendations !
The problem is really puzzling: for instance,a test sending to a mail list of 14 addresses (Yahoo, GMail, et. al.) worked fine, but immediately thereafter, the attempt to send to my yahoo address a pre-view of the next newsletter bounced …
One hypothesis is that mass mailing triggers more stringent controls by Yahoo, GMail and others.
I might try to (re)send my NewsLetter to its 300 or so intended destinations with an instruction to release them by batch of 5 every 15 minutes.
Really groping my way, and bracing for resorting to use SendMail… without being assured that it will be a solution !
    Eric.

    Hello Eric,

thanks for the answer. It would be more easy to find out first if it is a problem of Yahoo/Gmail (more stringend controls) or if MailPoet changed something, maybe mass mailing have new, special attributes we don’t know about…?

So… Mail-Poet-Team, we would be pleased to get your assistance!

    Luise

    Hallo MailPoet Team,

we will try and see what happen. Thanks for the suggestion!

We’ve been having similar problems. Our mailing list is very small; so I haven’t felt that we needed to use a mail service. But from time to time, people don’t receive the newsletter. Now, I can’t even seem to send myself a draft when I am setting the newsletter up. Since there is no problem sending emails from the same address, I am inclined to think that this is a MailPoet issue.

    Hi Jake,
Indeed, there are strange things happening with MailPoet. The latest I experienced is that the pre-view I am sending to my mailbox is bouncing (see error message sent by Yahoo above), while the same newsletter sent out to a mailing list that I am part of a few hours later makes it to the same mailbox. How come ?…
I will try the Spam Score tool provided by MailPoet.
    Eric.

    Hi,
It appears that the mass rejection of e-mails by Yahoo, Gmail et. al. is all but disappearing when mails are being sent out at slow pace (5 every 15 minutes in my last – successful – try) instead of being released all 300 together.
    Eric.

    Hey MailPoet-Team,

I tried different things because of the result of your little tool – are you sure, that there are no bugs? For example: It should be a problem that I was sending from a yahoo adress (never had problems before!), now I chanced the setting to an email adress from my website. I have the same results when I use the tool and it tells me that I am not allowed to use Yahoo (but a already changed)!
