Stalls when editing post/page or sending post/page to trash

A problem just started this evening.
When trying to edit a post or page and clicking update the system stalls and throws up a blank page with the following URL
https://www.thesite.com/wp-admin/post.phpThe same thing happens when trying to delete a post or page
https://www.thesite.com/wp-admin/post.php?action=trash&post=1167&_wpnonce=4e144f8527I have no problem adding posts or pages.
When I try to do a quick edit the ring just keeps on spinning.
