Just curious about something that happened. I was running WP Optimize on a client site, to clear out the junk after making changes to the site and doing some updates. I went to run WP Optimize on the main database and it stalled out on me at one setting which I’d never seen it do before. It was stuck (I think) on WP Notifications. This is a small client site with alot of competitors in her market, so it’s not possibly heavy traffic. When I noticed it stalling out. The site seems to be okay and I have 2 backups from UpdraftPlus but what would make Optimize stall out on that one function? When I saw it stalling I went to pages just to get it out of stall mode and the site seems to be okay but I thought it was very odd. Can anyone please help shed light on what was happening? It’s a pretty small site running PHP 7.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

Please could you try setting up a logging destination in the Settings tab, and running a fresh optimisation? Could you then send us a copy of the log?

In the Table information tab, please could you check the size of the database table that the process appeared to hang on?

@dnutbourne can you please provide instructions on how to do these procedures step-by-step?

    Hi,

After some thought, it may be that the page is timing out, but the optimisation is completing in the background. Setting up an email log should show if this is the case.

To set up a logging destination:

    • In the WP-Optimise dashboard, open the Settings tab
    • Under the ‘Logging settings’ section, click ‘Add a logging destination’
    • Select the email option. The email will be sent to the admin address.
    • After saving the logging settings, run an optimisation.
    • Wait for 30 to 60 minutes. You should receive an email with the log

Please could you send us a copy of the contents of that email?
