• So I cloned a site to a new staging environment, and then realized that it is now sharing it’s media bucket with the live site. I was wondering exactly what the implications of this are. I assume that anything that is deleted on one site will stop working on the other, since it is no longer in the bucket. But what about adding new media? Will that break anything? Would it cause a conflict if I added the same media item to both sites?

    Hi @ixpubs,

WP Offload Media Support Team here, Thanks for reaching out with your query we would be happy to assist.

I assume that anything that is deleted on one site will stop working on the other, since it is no longer in the bucket

This is correct, WP Offload Media Lite does not have a function to sync between multiple website. Deleting a media file on one site would cause a ‘missing image’ error on the other site that is also using the same bucket.

But what about adding new media? Will that break anything? Would it cause a conflict if I added the same media item to both sites?

This depends if you have ‘Object Versioning’ enabled.
If yes, then uploading the same media on both sites would not cause any issues, as both media files would have different Object Versioning folders.
If no, then the last one that you upload will overwrite the first media file (assuming that both have the same filename and file path).

Kindly let us know if you have further questions,
    Thank you.
