  • Does that pmetrics plugin also put in the regular javascript call to the performancing script? It was duplicated on her page.

The plugin automatically inserts the required tracking JavaScript, so there’s no need for the user to modify templates at all. So when people inserted the code themselves, then discovered the plugin and enable it, they now have duplicated the script.

There’s no easy or obvious way to determine from the plugin if someone’s put it there manually. Plus with the plugin, there’s the option to not track administrator visits – if the manually added script is still there, it’s still going to track admins.

    thanks for that info dave.

    Okay, here’s a interesting variation:

I don’t use PMetrics, yet I’m getting a “Stack Overflow Error at Line 1487” every time I log onto the blog — and sometimes when I load the Manage Posts page! A number of users tell me they’re getting the same message.

The problem seems to occur only with Internet Explorer.

One user tried viewing the source code. It ends at line 1150-something. There is no line 1487.

    Any and all clues welcome.

It could be another JavaScript file that is loaded by WordPress or a plugin, not necessarily the actual website source.

I’m having the exact same problem as sgerber. Same line number and everything. And, my source file doesn’t go anywhere near that many lines of code.

Has anyone had this problem resolved?

The problem appears to be entirely javascript related; I noticed that in IE7 I’d get the same error if I had the amazon auto-linking javascript in too many entries on one page. My temporary solution was, of course, to no longer use the auto-linker.

Any resolution to this problem beyond not using javascript would be appreciated.
