We have been experiencing issues where Really Simple SSL does not detect an installed SSL after a plugin update. The prevalence of this issue has been growing quite a bit across many websites on many servers. Today we noticed the issue when activating for the first time on a brand new website that has not been designed yet. Are there any specific IPs we need to allow in a firewall to ensure the check works?

I took a look at the outgoing traffic from that site as it was brand new and I am seeing outbound connections to Cloudflare. Is there something in Cloudflare on your end that could be causing this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Are we talking about a Really Simple SSL free only plugin setup, or are you using any add-ons from us?

Because the free does not do requests to our really-simple-ssl.com (which indeed uses CF). There are no other CloudFlare related requests.

If I try in the terminal:

    curl -I https://yourdomain.com

I don’t get a response. Maybe it’s some sort of security measure, but if the plugin doesn’t get a response on the curl request to your site, it can’t verify the certificate.

In addition to the above: if the certificate can’t be detected because of the security configuration you can always type the site url in the browser address bar with https, then hit enter. When the site loads over https, the plugin will recognize the very anyway.
