I had SG OPtmizer installed – but images were not showing up in Safari on Mac and iOS.
Looking for a solution for this it was recommended to install install SSL Insecure content fixer – and the images were now visible.

However I got the warning that SG Optimizer was incompatible with it. I disabled SG Optimizer, reluctantly – but need the images to show up.

Is this truly an incompatibility issue or do I simply need to turn off the “Fix insecure content” in SG Optimizer?

I have the SSL insecure content setting as “Simple”

    Simple:
The fastest method with the least impact on website performance

scripts registered using wp_register_script() or wp_enqueue_script()
stylesheets registered using wp_register_style() or wp_enqueue_style()
images and other media loaded by calling wp_get_attachment_image(), wp_get_attachment_image_src(), etc.
data returned from wp_upload_dir() (e.g. for some CAPTCHA images)
images loaded by the plugin Image Widget

    Thanks!

This is caused by CloudFlare not taking into consideration accept:webp headers. You need to disable CF if you want tonserve next gen images. Safari will add webp support in the atumn though.
