Hi, we are using mailpoet for internal use only to provide new blogposts to our employees.
Since the last update (wordpress: 6.0 and Mailpoet: 3.89.3) there is an error when trying to send via our internal mail server.
We do not use SSL for our internal mail server so i set the “secure connection” to “no” and “Authentication” also to “no”.

When i try to send a test email i got this error:
`SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. Connection failed. stream_socket_enable_crypto(): SSL operation failed with code 1. OpenSSL Error messages: error:1416F086:SSL routines:tls_process_server_certificate:certificate verify failed

Before i updated wordpress – everything works fine.
    Can anyone help?

  • We are having the same issue since we updated to WordPress 6. In our case, our email server is not secured, but using SMTP autentication. It’s a secondary server located in a subdomain we use for sendig newsletters. We are getting the following error:

El correo electrónico no pudo se enviado:SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. Connection failed. stream_socket_enable_crypto(): Peer certificate CN=*.srv.cat' did not match expected CN=newsletter.xxxxxxx.com’.

    And hi @erubiales

We currently provide support in English. For now, I’ll be replying in English. You’re welcome to continue in English or I can enter your message into Google Translate, if you’d prefer.

We have released a new MailPoet version (3.89.4) that includes a fix for that issue. Can you please give it a try and open up a new thread if you need any further help.

    Cheers
