Okay, so I’ve seen, called, and searched enough to believe this SSL confusion needs a proper thread.

    1. My hosting provider will not work with Let’s Encrypt, wants to sell me a “new hosting plan” which includes an SSL certificate but requires me to manually backup and migrate my domains over to this new hosting plan. Yikes.
    2. SSL plugins seem to require the same level of technical know-how in order to manually set up a separate SSL certificate that the plugins then administer or whatever on your site. Some of them even say ‘one click’ but require numerous clicks, cut & pastes, code parsing, and etc.
    3. Really Simple SSL crashed my site, so I removed it, and now Google is indexing the https version of my site and so links to it go to a ‘coming soon’ page.

    So, my question is:

Is there an SSL plugin that works with Godaddy’s options (believe me, I’ve tried asking them for literally days of text support at this point and come up with no real answer), doesn’t require manually figuring out where to put code etc, and won’t crash WordPress sites?

If not, what is the easiest and least expensive route to recovering my https status so my website can show up in Google’s index again?

    Please and thank you.
