I am trying to build an experimental website with paypal integration and having had problems with the standard paypal interface in woo commerce your plugin looked ideal. However I get an error saying that an SSL certificate is required. Unfortunately my hosting company wants an annual fee for this which I can’t justify. Does this mean I can’t integrate Paypal just with your plugin or at all?

It looks like a great Plugin, thanks for developing.

If you’re going to be using PayPal Payments Pro, then you’re going to need an SSL. When people are entering credit card details directly into a form on your site, that form and that data needs to be protected. Technically, you could get the plugin (or any PayPal Pro integration) working fine without an SSL in place, but this is strongly advised against.

If you just stick with Express Checkout then you don’t need an SSL, and you can enable the options for it to display the guest checkout option within Express Checkout so that non-PayPal account holders can easily checkout with a credit card. They would still be redirected through PayPal, but the option to pay without logging in would be more prominent than what PayPal Standard provides.

I’m going to go ahead and close this ticket, but let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
