Anyone out there know if/how to customize this plugin so that it will show archives only for the category that’s been clicked on?

I really don’t want it to be monthly/dated whatsoever – as I’m using the categories simply as “sections” of a site – but I need a way to pull up the category posts in a list, so that it looks somewhat like this:

    https://www.anubismarketing.com/clients/nd/multiple-category-archive.jpg

Every post is going to have two categories associated with it – From the portfolio PAGE, they will be able to choose which combination they want to see. It will then take them to an index like the one in the above image…

Is this the right plugin for this?
If not, IS there a good plugin for this?

I’m on an extremely tight deadline – beyond tight, less than 12 hours or so. I’m willing to pay for help on this if I have to… but if someone could point me in the right direction here even, that would be great.

  • Hi Lady,
Perhaps you could use or easily modify this plugin?

Hi samboll – it looks like a start – but I’m afraid I’m not familiar enough with plugin development to really tweak this the way I might need it to show the archive like I need it to…

I realize this is probably a super complicated thing I’m trying to do – and I’m upset with myself for not knowing how to do it before I promised I could… I didn’t really think it would be that difficult until I started to get into it. ??

I have an entire .PPT the client sent me of what they want their site to look like, and the more I sit here trying to figure things out, the more stressed I’m getting. The site was supposed to be finished on Friday, and due to other problems with servers and such, I had to ask for an extention, provided I’d work through the weekend. Here it is Sunday night, and I’m still behind. And getting more stressed every second.

Any ideas on what exactly I might need to modify to make this work properly?

Do you think maybe making child categories would work better? I’m so confused at this point!

    Lady,
I’m out of here for the night.
Maybe ask David? He’s darned good at this stuff:

Updated the link to the image – it was the wrong link.

Thanks Sam – I’ll see if I can get ahold of him.

Okay – half an hour since I emailed him and no reply yet – I think I’m going to assume chait went to bed too… *sigh*

    Anyone else?

nevermind – got ahold of him.
    thanks samboll!
    (and chait!)

Could you share how you solved this? Mostly the combinations of categories? I’m doing a very similar thing with a blog that will have cities as categories, plus more traditional categories (like news, entertainment, etc.), and I’m trying to figure out the best way to have archives for each combination (like New York + News, London + Photos, etc.).

    Thanks

Sorry for the delay, Peter – I’m not sure exactly how it was done, because I wound up hiring David to do the work as an outsourced part of the project. I’m sorry I can’t help – as I’d said before, it involves customizing the PHP code and I’m just not familiar with that.
