I’m looking at the Metaslider plugin and so far it seems great. However, there is one thing I am struggling to understand that it is not doing:

It always seems to be drawing the full sized image.

On the page above, if you inspect the image being drawn (this is true for all of them). The images srcset includes a 517×799 image (which is the “Rendered Size” and the size of the slideshow), but the currentSrc is always the full sized image.

    What am I missing/not understanding?

I’m on “latest” Chrome, Mac OS X.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,

Sorry for the delay. I’m assuming you have cropping disabled, right? If so, it will hand it off to WordPress to handle, which will use the srcset. After that it’s up to the browser to determine the best image to use.

I looked at your site and when I shrunk down my browser window to a small width I saw the appropriate image. You have to clear your browser image cache too as the browser will pick the larger image if it’s already loaded.
