Squares and weird characters all over my blog! Please help

  • Hello,

    I switched over from yahoo to hostdime and now there are weird characters, almost all of them squares that appear after periods that show up in all my previous posts!

    I tried this utf sanitize program but it didnt seem to work?

    Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • Its because your text isn’t utf-8. Its Windows-1252. Find this in your header.php: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> and change the charset to windows-1252. The diamonds will go away but I’d think you’d be better off converting to utf-8.

    Awesome feedback, thank you very much. How would I go about converting it to utf-8, is there a plugin (fingers crossed!)

    I haven’t had any luck finding a plugin that will automate this. Sorry.
