This is an odd problem. I have put together a page that compares different tiled gallery presentations and has two separate problems. One related to either JetPack or the theme in use which results in tiled columns displaying off-kilter. The second one relates to your plugin which displays square images rather than rectangular origins. Just to make sure it was not suffering from tiled gallery contents being forever cached on WordPress CDN servers, I created two new galleries at the bottom. The second to the last gallery actually contains panoramic images. When clicked, all the images are displayed as square except the first two. I tried using the JetPack carousel and it displays the originals as they are supposed to be, mostly rectangular.

I thought I would bring this to your attention,

  • Hi, so those are all Jetpack tiled gallery blocks and the issue only occurs on blocks where you chose the “Square tiles” or “Circles” block style? It seems this is a Jetpack issue (or feature)…

That may be, but both the JetPack Carousel and NextGEN Pro lightbox display full-size images. That’s why I reported it to you. I have activated the JP Carousel which comes up first and displays the full-size image. If you close that, the EFB lightbox will show the square, cropped image. It is not an issue for me as I do not use square galleries with JetPack, I reported just in case you might want to know.

@ravanh, the problem indeed was related to JetPack. I reported it in detail to them.
