Square payments being put on hold

Hi @jeliseballon. If you’re already capturing charges but are still seeing the message “payment held for review”, this can mean that some additional setup is required on the Square account. You may also want to check with Square support to make sure all account & payment details are set up correctly.

If this doesn’t help, please enable logging in WooCommerce > Settings > Square. The next time this problem happens there should be a Square log file under WooCommerce > Status > Logs. Please find the one with the most recent date to share it with us.

@drwpcom This is a new issue, Square was processing payments just fine when first set-up and I haven’t changed any of the settings. I also read several articles in the support forums and made sure every recommended setting was in place. I have already checked with Square and they said the issue is not on their end it’s the WooCommerce plugin.

Another order came through yesterday after I made sure all of my woocommerce plugins were updated, and it was the same thing. Immediately went to “payment held for review” status. And then I had to manually click “Capture charge” for it to process.

In your email, please include a screenshot of the order notes and the Square settings. Also, please share your system report with us. You can find it by going to WooCommerce > Status > Get system report and then click Copy for support to be able to paste it in your reply.

I’m also seeing this on a brand new site and stuck with manually capturing charges.
