I have my square gift cards setup as a variable product with several variations. I notice that when the check box is active for Square Gift Card, the variation options for virtual product dissapear even though they were previously checked as virtual.

I have another plugin that I use to have customers choose pickup locations and times and it is forcing them to choose this even though for a gift card they do not need to pick anything up. The plugin developer told me if a product is virtual and that is all that is in the cart, it will bypass this and not require customers to choose a pickup time/location.

I am wondering why square gift card option removes this option for virtual product and if there is a way to make them virtual.

Kindly note, the Square gift cards are simple or variable virtual products, by default. The official documentation can be found linked here, for reference.

Just to be sure, could you double-check if this product is set up as virtual in the back-end, or otherwise?

Hi, well that is what I am saying is if I check the box that says square gift card then the virtual checkbox becomes hidden.

The Square Gift Card, by default, is considered a virtual product, which is why the checkbox for Virtual Product becomes hidden once the Square Gift Card option is selected. This is the standard and expected behavior of the WooCommerce Square plugin.

However, I understand that this is causing issues with your pickup location plugin. It might be possible to work around this by adding a custom code snippet to your site to ensure that Square Gift Cards are always treated as virtual products. But, this would require the help of a developer.

Alternatively, you could reach out to the developers of your pickup location plugin and ask them if they can adjust their plugin to recognize Square Gift Cards as virtual products.
