SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user

    Hello,
    I just can’t figure out what I am doing wrong and would appreciate some help:
    I am importing from a DreamHost site, copied the credentials from the config file into the “Joomla database parameters”. Upon hitting “test the connection”, I am getting an error:
    [fgj2wp] Couldn’t connect to the Joomla database
    SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user
    ‘(the db user for joomla)’@'(my host, not the joomla db host!!!!)’ (using password: YES).

    Double checked, triple checked…

    What am I doing wrong?

    Well, I managed to export the db and import the sql file into my server, take it from there.

    Still curious what went wrong?

    It was because your WordPress host doesn’t have access to your Joomla database. You made the right solution.
