SQL Import

  • Hi all ??

    I’m transferring my blog to another domain. I’ve transferred the files and copied and pasted the code in the database.sql into SQL and clicked go. The progress bar kind of stuck straight away and hasn’t moved since. It’s been almost 2 hours and the size of the database is 1.3MB.

    Has it failed? Am I safe to close the window and try again? I’m pretty amateur so if there’s any advice please don’t feel like you’re patronising me, any advice would be greatly appreciated!! ??

  • You can close the window. Then check to see if all the tables are created. Try accessing your blog, if something is amiss you can easily notice. If that’s the case drop all the tables and reimport. Instead of pasting all the sql code, import the sql file.

    Unfortunately, it didn’t work! I tried importing it but the same happened, it hangs and doesn’t seem to be doing anything. I wasted 2 hours waiting for the copy + paste method then an hour importing with the other method, kinda getting irritating now!!
