SQL file too big for phpMyAdmin

The SQL file created by the backup process is too big for upload by phpMyAdmin. phpMyAdmin has a maximum file size for import of 8192kb. my sql file is now bigger than that. Could you include an ption to save the SQL file as zipped or gzipped please
also – any news on fixing of export to use NULL rather than ”
