    I am reposting this comment since I did not get a response when I posted it 3 days ago….

    I have been having issues with email digests being sent out to my subscribers for the past few weeks.
    I went through your FAQ list for troubleshooting….
    !.) My number of recipients per email is set to 1
    2.) I installed WP Crontrol…it shows future subscribe2 digest ready to go out
    3.) my templates are not empty
    4.) I have not excluded any categories in registered users
    5.) I installed an Email log plug in and sent out an email to all my 658 subscribers…the log shows only 121 emails went out. I have 3 emails of my own I have to make sure these go out and only 2 out of the three received them. Only one of my two gmail accts got the message, although one day this past week, all three got the digest.
    6.) I called my hosting provider again. I can have up to 1000 emails sent out. They checked on their end and found no restrictions nor said there were any changes. They told me to check back with Subscribe2.
    7.) I systematically shut down other plugins to see if there are conflicts… still spotty email digests.
    8.) My theme is Weaver version 2.2.9
    9.) All other plugins, including Subscibe2, are updated.
    10.) No redbox errors

    Any suggestions on to what else to check or do? I am at a loss at this point. I can’t understand why only 121 emails are going out to my 658 subscribers.

    Thanks

  • @bay Area Art Grind,

    I haven’t seen your original thread in my forum, apologies if it was missed in the main forums but I don’t go there.

    The log will record how many emails are generated by the code. So the question is why the code is sending 121 when you think it should be sending 658.

    How are your subscribers split between Registered and Public? How did you send your test email to those 121?

    I have now, 661 public subscribers.
    I sent a test email to myself.
    Shouldn’t the log show that the emails are being sent to ALL my subscribers? I think that is the question…why only some of my subscribers are getting the daily digest and a good majority are not.
    It was working fine until about 3 weeks ago with no changes or additions to my site. I called the host and they have not changed anything during that time as well. I updated plug-ins and WP after the emails started getting sporadic and it has only gotten worse. Today, two of the digests I have sent to myself (to check if they are going out) are labeled as spam. The third still hasn’t been sent out.

    @bay Area Art Grind,

    So, to clarify, it was working fine a few weeks ago. You haven’t changed anything and your hosting provider claims that they haven’t changed anything either and yet, quite out of the blue, your emails are now failing?

    Given that Subscribe2 works exclusively on your server (emails are sent from you site) I think you need to go back to your host and tell them it has worked previously but isn’t working now with you changing nothing.

    Given that some emails fail and don’t show in the log I would suspect a resource limitation to be the issue, maybe your site is now running low on RAM or is running out of time before the script completes – that would result in partial success and partial failure like you are seeing.

    The spam flagging is probably due to the sudden higher volume emailing and it being duplicates.

    Checked with the host, checked my RAM….I am well below the max. no. of emails that can be sent out and have more than enough RAM.

    So, I have done everything on your trouble-shooting check off list and do not have conflicts with any of the listed known conflicts. I have checked with my host 4 times to have everything checked out on their end as well as checking my own access…. Still the same issue.

    The only thing I haven’t done is update my theme. In your opinion, could that possibly be the problem/conflict?

    @bay Area Art Grind,

    I doubt it but it’s worth a try. It also worth checking for theme and plugin conflicts. Use a core WordPress theme and only Subscribe2 and if it works better then you have a conflict.

    Known conflicting plugins are listed here:
