SportsPress – how to calculate Slugging Percentage (Baseball)

  • Hi all,
    I’m developing a website for an annual stickball tournament that my friends and I organize each year. I’m using the Champion theme with the SportsPress (free) plugin.

    I’m currently adding in Player Statistics fields to SportsPress, but can’t figure out how to create the formula for Slugging Percentage (i.e. Total Bases / At Bats).

    In essence, I would need to assign values to each type of hit (Single = 1; Double = 2; Triple = 3; Home Run = 4) and somehow tie those values to each player’s performance. E.g. Player A had 2 Singles, 0 Doubles, 0 Triples, 1 Home Run. That would equate to a Total Bases amount of 6 (2 + 0 + 0 + 4 = 6).

    Any ideas on how to create the Slugging Percentage formula in SportsPress?
