SporstsPress for Bowling League

@sirexilon I’d love to make the plugin work with bowling! From my understanding, each competition would have a basis score and a percentage factor, then calculating each player’s handicap from their average score, something like this:

Handicap = ( Basis Score - Player Average ) * Percentage Factor

For this to work we would need to add some additional details to the plugin, and also a way to calculate player averages at the time of the game. An easier option would be to have a field where you would enter each player’s average score within each game, although this would need to be calculated manually.

I’m very interested in adding this so would like to make it happen. Let me know if I’ve missed anything!

Hi Brian, Handicap is correct Average is just Pins / Games played

But I also have the issue of Scores.

Each game = 2 points
Draw is = 1 point
and Total for the Series = 2 points

all players Pins + All Players Hdcp = game1 Winner gets 2 points
all players Pins + All Players Hdcp = game2 Winner gets 2 points
all players Pins + All Players Hdcp = game3 Winner gets 2 points
Game1 + gmae2 + game3 = Series Total Winner gets 2 more points

Example if we have a 3 game series on the event we need to add
Each player game plus each player Handicap and in the end add the 3 games the total winner also gets 2 more points.

For a series of 3 games there are 8 points
I can send you a score table if that will help you.

I got part of it to work, but when I got to the total points I was stuck again.

ONe more thing just in case.

Each League Night or Weekly Event consist on 3 games (at least)
The handicap used for all those 3 games is the one that results from the latest Handicap as the last game og previous week. So it can’change in the middle of the event.

As Metrics most leagues use,
Scratch Game- Women / Men. : the best game without handicap to date. (Season)
Scratch Series- Women / Men : the best Series without Handicap to date (Season)
handicap Game – Women / Men : Pins + Handicap Best game To Date (Season)
Handicap Series – Women / Men : Best Series with handicap added (season)
and Repeat each of them as Team.

If you guys can make something to make it easier to create would be great, I can share and put your Logo and or link on our Page and share it with other leagues Page designers.

Hey everybody,

Are there any updates on this? I am working on a site where I need to track bowling scores for local tournaments and have not yet figured out a way to do it properly. Sportspress does just about everything I need save for a few tweaks.

I would be happy to work with somebody to get this functionality and would more than likely by a Pro Agency license once I know it was working for my needs.
