Split media into nested folders to get organized
-
This plugin is a huge help in organizing your media library. Rather than a huge bucket where all uploaded media goes, you can easily split images into nested folders. Great!
Additionally, you can quickly make galleries from the nested content using the included gallery blocks. Even better!
AND, the developers are super responsive and helpful, even for free users.THAT’S FANTASTIC!
So why only 4 stars? There are some bugs and some missing functionality.
Bugs:
The Filebird gallery block doesn’t force inclusion of the block CSS file, so block editing themes won’t get the right CSS unless you also include a normal gallery block on the page or post. I filed a bug and it was fixed… but then broke again in the next version.
Every. Time. You. Open. The. Media. Library. It. Reloads. The. Folder. List. And. Resets. You. Back. To. The. Default. Folder. Caching the list of folders and the loaded file lists AND the last folder you were using while editing a single post or page would go a long way towards improving the user experience. Maybe even add a “reload” button?
Missing functionality:
You should be able to “re-upload” an image with the same URL. There is an “edit” button which allows you to crop, but re-upload would be much more helpful.
