    Thanks for the great plugin!

We recently migrated to a new server and every time I run Health Check I get spinning/loading wheels on several categories (Plugin Versions,JSON Extension
MySQL utf8mb4,Communication with www.remarpro.com, Secure communication, Scheduled events, Background updates, Loopback request), but the ones that don’t load vary from time to time.

In troubleshooting mode with only health check active several categories that do not load are Scheduled events,Background updates,Loopback request,MySQL utf8mb4 support,Communication, PHP Version, and Database Server version Plugin Versions. Again it varies.

As I enable each of the six plugins individually different categories load and others spin.

When not in trouble shooting mode I have seen two errors:
The loopback request to your site failed, this may prevent WP_Cron from working, along with theme and plugin editors.
Error encountered: (0) cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10001 milliseconds with 0 bytes received

Debugger: The loopback request to your site failed, this may prevent WP_Cron from working, along with theme and plugin editors.<br>Error encountered: (0) cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received

I have also had this error show up by itself with the same debugger error: A plugin has prevented updates by disabling wp_version_check()

The site randomly throws a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I have upped the php memory and checked with the host company who said they do not see an issue with the server.

There were issues with the site during the migration and had to rename and recreate the .htaccess File.

Any ideas or suggestions on a possible fix?

    Hiya,

You mention this affecting some tests, but not all, does this mean that you’ll usually get some of them finishing every time (even if they are random ones finishing)?

If that’s the case, this may be a known limitation that was mentioned to us a week ago with some server setups and limitations they impose (to avoid abuse, it’s a legitimate limitation that I was not aware of), that we are looking at addressing in the next version, but I’d like to confirm if this is what happens for you before saying that’s definitely what you are experiencing.

    Thank you for the reply.

Yes, each time I reactivate a plugin different ones finish.

Could the loopback, WP_Cron, and cURL error 28: errors be related to this same limitation?

They might be, but I’m afraid I can’t say for certain. If possible, hold out till version 1.3.0 rolls out and that should take care of the randomly failing tests at the very least. We’re still a bit away from rolling it out, but the relevant issue is at https://github.com/WordPress/health-check/issues/181 if you like to keep up with such things ??
