• It would be very useful to be able to pre-load lists of specialist/custom words. It would cut down editing time especially on mobile devices.

Given as spell check isn’t a part of WordPress, there’s nothing WP can do about that. SpellCheckers run either via a plugin (which can be edited) or your browser (which is up to the OS, and god I hate the iOS not letting me add my own damn name to the spell check!)

Now you have me puzzled. I have just done a vanilla install of WP, no spell check plug ins and along the top of the editor bar I have a spell icon:-

    <a title="Toggle spellchecker (Alt+Shift+N)" onmousedown="return false;" onclick="return false;" class="mceOpen mce_spellchecker" href="javascript:;" id="content_spellchecker_open"><span class="mceOpen mce_spellchecker"></span></a>

Oh. Wow. Tells you how long it’s been since I used the Visual editor! *blush*

Uh … I want to say that since that’s the TinyMCE spellcheck, it’s not easily updated, but you could look for plugins like Advanced TinyMCE, and they might have ways to do it.

Well this was a suggestion for a feature only.

Yeah, the devs don’t actually read this forum that much.

Pitch it in trac.www.remarpro.com (same login id/password combo you use here) – It’s either a limitation of TinyMCE or a choice by the devs, and either way, you’ll know.
