• I have installed and activated the spell check plug-in. When I attempt to spell check a post the spell check window displays and I receive the following error message:

    Error executing ‘urs/bin/aspell -a –lang=en_US –personal=/hesaid/wp-content/spell-plugin/aspell.personal …….

there is a little more but I hope this is descriptive enough. I have checked the directory and the aspell.personal file is inplace.

  • No, not quite enough. However, as you can see in the comments, this looks like something that is relatively commonly seen. Try changing your language to something else, like english or simply en.

here is the entire error message:

    Error executing ‘urs/bin/aspell -a –lang=en_US –personal=/hesaid/wp-content/spell-plugin/aspell.personal <hesaid/wp-content/spell-plugin/aspell_data_HPoYqC 2>&1’ /urs/bin/aspell: not found

How would I can the language?

You misspelled “/usr/” in that path. Perhaps that’s the problem?

probably just a typo on my part — I typed in the detailed error message

Ah. Well, it appears that the plugin can’t find the aspell executable. In the 1.1 version, it will look for it with a “which aspell.” That must not have located it. You might ask your hosting provider whether aspell is installed and where.
