Speed Problems

  • I noticed, that the Gutenberg Editor seems to have big issues when it comes to longer blog posts.

    If the word-count goes over 2k, the response time in Gutenberg is really bad.
    Any ideas on how to handle that issue?

    As an editor, writing good blog posts, and also constantly making changes to hundreds of long blog posts becomes a real nightmare.

  • Absolutely agree with this. Hopefully someone will be able to provide an answer to this & on how to stop the incessant auto-saving that basically stops me from working!

    I’ve actually resorted to cut and paste in MS Notepad as it makes the job of editing posts a thousand times faster!

    You’re absolutely right, we have identified that long posts can in some cases become very slow.
    Good news though! WordPress version 5.0.2 (unless something unexpected happens) should include improvements to the editing flow and performance, and should hopefully address this!
