I’ve specified a Social Image Fallback URL on the main SEO settings page, and the specified image is being correctly set as the og:image and twitter:image on all secondary pages of the site (other than those pages where a “Featured Image” has been specified, in which case the Featured Image is used, but that’s as expected).

However, on the homepage, looking at the page source code, the og:image and twitter:image remain the “site identity” image (favicon), which was formerly the case on secondary pages, too, before I set the Social Image Fallback URL. To try and resolve this, I went into the Homepage SEO Settings and specified the same image set via the Social Image Fallback URL, but after publishing the homepage, deleting cache (just to be sure), and checking the source code, the og:image and twitter:image are still using the site identity/favicon image rather that the one I specified in the Homepage SEO Settings.

A few notes that might help with troubleshooting:

    1) Our homepage doesn’t have any “featured image” specified, so I’m not sure why it’s pulling the site identity/favicon image over the one I specified via Homepage SEO Settings.

    2) The site uses the Impreza theme.

    3) Open Graph tags have been disabled in the theme settings, since I’m using the SEO Framework plugin (prevents duplicate tags).

    4) I’ve tried the Facebook Debugger and Twitter Card Validator to verify that it’s pulling the incorrect image, but as mentioned, I’m seeing the incorrect image when I look at the og:image and twitter:image meta tags, so the problem isn’t with Facebook or Twitter.

Thanks in advance for your help — it’s a fantastic plugin!

    Hello!

Reading your comments, I think you’ve skipped one settings field. On the global SEO Settings page, you’ll find another meta box for the homepage settings, wherein you can specify the primary image for the homepage under the Social tab. This box is there because some sites don’t have a page–but a blog–on front.

If that’s not set to the site identity icon, then I’ll gladly take a closer look at your homepage to get a glimpse of what’s going on. Feel free to send the address to me confidentially via our contact form. Cheers!
